January 6, 2025 – New York, NY – Justin M. Jacobson recently spoke as a panelist for the Association for Electronic Music‘s “Legal Summit” focused on “Fair Deals for Artists and Managers.” The panel explored the current state recording contracts for musicians and producers in the U.S. and other countries, especially in the electronic dance music (EDM) space. The discussion continued by exploring need for proper legal protections and mechanisms in place including contracts between producers, artists, and other interested parties. It concluded by looking the structure and some best practices for negotiating recording and publishing agreements for musicians and for talent management deals.
