On March 17, 2025, The Wall Street Journal quoted Justin M. Jacobson, Esq., President of Law Office of Justin M. Jacobson, Esq. as part of their article entitled “They Named Their Companies Lumon. Then ‘Severance’ Aired.” In particular, Mr. Jacobson commented on the legalities of television, motion picture, and other media properties utilizing and incorporating fictional “companies” or “brands” in their content. He was also quoted speaking on the usage of existing business names by television, motion picture, and digital media properties as it relates to trademark usage and an “intent” to actually provide the listed services to consumers.
